OUR MISSION

The mission of Miah Families is to ignite hope and belonging through regular connection among children, families, seniors, caregivers, and adults with disabilities. Miah Families creates welcoming spaces where people of all ages and abilities gather, share, and thrive together.
“If you want something you have never had, you must be willing to do something you have never done.”
-Thomas Jefferson

MIAH VALUES

BELONGING
We offer safe, welcoming spaces for families to belong. No matter what you’re looking for, we’re here walking right beside you. We are trained in connection across all ages and abilities.
HOPE
We believe no one should face this road alone and hope is found where people share life together. People are medicine to each other that we must prescribe more. All ages were meant to be together and care for each other - together.
COMMUNITY
We create a community that understands the barriers in life and works to remove them. When we start with curiousity and compassion, lived out in every exchange we change the narrative of division is replaced with our need for each others lived expereinces.

OUR STORY

BE A miah BUILDER

Every contribution to Miah Families helps build a more sustainable future for adults with disabilities, seniors, caregivers, and families seeking connection, independence, and community.

Whether support comes through donations, partnerships, or shared advocacy, each contribution helps us expand community-centered supportive housing, strengthen resident programming, and create new possibilities for long-term belonging and stability.

We believe meaningful change happens when people build together — and we are deeply grateful for every person helping bring this vision to life.

Even for as little as $5/month you can help us grow.

I Want To Donate

Miah Families began with one simple thing: noticing.

Systems have been built to care for and organize people, but we still need a place to get to know, grow with, and connect with each other. Caregivers are maxed out and isolation is everywhere.

Being supported isn’t the same as being seen. And being organized isn’t the same as belonging.

So we are building something different, Miah Families creates intentional spaces where people gather, not just to manage life, or be managed, but to share it. A place where stories matter, relationships are nurtured, and growth happens side by side.

Miah Families believes that support looks like knowing someone’s name, their journey, and what matters to them the most. Accessing our deepest parts of the village to care better for each other. This is about building a community where no one feels like a number or a case file, but like they belong. We share the burden and the bounty of the human experience.

THE VISION

We started in October, 2025 hosting monthly Meet Ups in Washington County, Oregon, learning and collecting the right resources to build our vision, without becoming "just another housing complex."

Our development plan allows people of all ages and abilities to care for each together in the same location through housing and day services.

The Miah Families campus will connect:

1: Licensed In Home Daycare
2: Independant Senior & IDD Units
4: IDD & Dementia Day Services
5: Caregiver Respite
6: Live in, On Site, Mission Caretakers
7: Community Center & Recreation

    THE PROBLEM

The world isn’t built with full access in mind. Families may face barriers to participation, experience fragmented support systems, or struggle to find spaces that reflect their needs. These gaps often leave families feeling overlooked, isolated, or overwhelmed.

    THE SOLUTION

Miah Families is a community-centered network that walks alongside families navigating caregiving. We are rooted in principles of dignity, access, and shared journey. We believe no one should face this road alone.

    THE PHASES

We offer safe, welcoming spaces for families to belong and grow. Through events (currently), independant homes, and day services (future), we help build lasting relationships, sustainable infrastructire and remind families support is available. As our mission continues to grow, so does our community.
